Assistant Carillonneur: Charlotte Barber

 

Charlotte Barber is from a musical Bournville family. She was born and brought up in the locality and for many years was a member of St. Francis Church choir with her late mother who was a much revered teacher of piano.

 

Charlotte is a talented musician and has now graduated from Birmingham Conservatoire having studied organ and harpsichord. She attained  Bmus (Hons) and PG Cert. 

 

Charlotte is a part time organist at Birmingham Parish Church – St. Martins in the Bull Ring and is assistant organist to Trevor Workman at St. Francis Church, Bournville.

 

Charlotte became Assistant Carillonneur after studying with Trevor Workman at the George Cadbury Carillon School. She has already participated in International Carillon Festivals in Perpignan, France and Mechelen, Belgium.

 

In October 2012, Charlotte was awarded, by an International Jury, an Advancement Diploma leading to 'Bachelor of Carillon' which she hopes to achieve in the near future.
