Christmas and New Year on the Carillon!
Having recently been out of action for renovations and repairs, the Carillon will be played extensively by Trevor Workman over the Christmas weekend and into the New Year.
As a start to the holiday celebration, the Carillon will add excitement as the children leave Bournville Village Primary School at 3:15 pm on Friday 22 December.
The seasonal celebration will continue on Saturday 23 December when playing will occur at 12 noon and 3:00 pm again filling Bournville with the sound of familiar Christmas music both traditional and modern.
On Sunday 24 December, being Christmas Eve, the ever popular 'Carols on the Green' event will commence at 6:00pm when it is anticipated a vast international crowd will assemble to sing in celebration of Christmas accompanied by the Carillon. Come and join in this amazing traditional event and savour the unique traditional start to Christmas.
Tradition will continue when the Carillon will be played at midnight on 31 December to welcome in the New Year. Music will be appropriate and familiar and this event is also a unique way of moving into the New Year.
After all the seasonal excitement the carillon will not be played throughout January 2024 but will resume normal weekly Saturday routines on Saturday 3 February 2024.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to your continued interest. Details of future events will be published via the 'Friends of Bournville Carillon' website and on social media. More information can be obtained via the Carillon Visitor Centre which will reopen after Christmas in February 2024.
We wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year in 2024!
