Guest Recital: Saturday 17 June 2023 at 3:00 pm: Caroline Sharpe (Loughborough)

We welcome back to Bournville, Caroline Sharpe - Carillonneur Loughborough War Memorial Carillon.

Caroline's programme which is published below contains many well know melodies with a 'watery' common theme. We hope that this theme will not extend to the weather but that the current glorious sunny days will continue to the weekend to make this guest recital all the more enjoyable.

Caroline lives in Leicestershire where she is Borough Carillonneur for Loughborough, playing the 47 bell Carillon at Loughborough's War Memorial tower. She has played played recitals around the UK and recorded carillon performances for both TV and radio.

Caroline runs and leads community choirs around Leicestershire and also directs Belvoir Wassailers (male voice choir) and Caroline Sharpe Singers (mixed voice choir). As a soprano soloist she performs with Choral Societies around the Midlands and operatic roles include 'Nero' in Monteverdi's 'Incoronazione di Poppea', 'Pamina' in Mozart's 'Die Zauberflote' and Musetta in Puccini's 'La Boheme'.
